Oversized is about frame width, not only lens size. A good oversized pair is a little wider than your face at the temples, covers from the brow to the top of the cheek, and still leaves a small gap above the cheeks. If width is usually the problem, see sunglasses for wide faces.
The bigger the lens, the more it matters where the frame sits. A large frame that drops onto the cheeks lifts every time you smile. Many frames here are cut for a lower nose bridge, such as the Lix in acetate and the Musubi in laser matte metal. For polarized lenses, look at the Maga KC and the Jasmin.
More on proportion and fit in the oversized sunglasses guide.
How do I know if a frame counts as oversized?
A frame counts as oversized when its total width reaches the sides of the face or slightly past them. Compare it with a pair you already own to picture the difference.
Do oversized sunglasses suit small faces?
They can, with the right shape. Choose a cat eye or square lens over a full shield, and check the total frame width against a pair you already own before buying.
Are big sunglasses heavier?
Larger lenses add weight, so the frame material matters. Acetate, TR90 and nylon, which this collection uses, keep the total weight comfortable for a full day.
Will oversized sunglasses slide down my nose?
Not if the bridge fits. Many MUJOSH frames are built on a low bridge fit pattern, with nose pads set to hold the frame in place, which is the usual fix for slipping.
