Polarized lenses block the flat, reflected glare that bounces off water, wet roads, snow and car windows. That makes them the better choice for driving, fishing and days near water. They can make some phone and dashboard screens look dark at certain angles, so if you read screens outdoors all day, keep that in mind. The guide to what polarized sunglasses do explains when they help and when they do not.
Every frame here is listed with polarized lenses. On a few models one colorway is the exception, and the product page says which. Fashion picks include the Numer, a narrow rectangle in polished acetate, and the Jasmin Straight cat eye. For sport, WAKE UP shields such as the Kylian 1017 and the Tidal Gradient 1020 add a grip coated nylon frame.
Not sure you need polarized at all? Polarized vs non polarized sunglasses compares the two side by side.
Are polarized sunglasses better for driving?
Usually, yes. They cut the glare that bounces off wet roads and car hoods. Some dashboard and phone screens can look dark through them at certain angles, so tilt the screen slightly if that happens.
Do polarized lenses protect against UV?
Polarization and UV protection are separate things. Polarization handles reflected glare; UV protection comes from the lens itself. MUJOSH sunglass lenses are made to block UV whether or not they are polarized.
How can I tell if sunglasses are polarized?
Look at a phone screen or a car window through them and tilt your head. If the view darkens or shows a rainbow pattern as you tilt, the lenses are polarized.
Are polarized lenses good for fishing?
Yes. They remove the glare on the surface so you can see into the water. The fishing sunglasses guide covers lens colors for different water.
